January 3: Grant County Food Policy Council @ the Grant County Administration Building 1400 Highway 180 East, Silver City, 3-5 p.m.

January 18: HKHC monthly conference call with project officer. All HKHC partners invited. 8:30-9:30 a.m. Contact HKHC for dial-in number.

January 26 (tentative): Grant County Fitness and Nutrition Community Action Group (FANC) meeting @ the Grant County Business and Conference Center, 3031 Highway 180 East, Silver City,3:30 p.m.

January 31: Local Food Committee meeting of the Southwest NM Green Chamber of Commerce @ the Co-op Community Room, 4-6 p.m.

February 7: Economic Development subcommittee of the Grant County Food Policy Council @ the Grant County Business and Conference Center, 3031 Highway 180 East, Silver City, 3-4 p.m.

March 13: HKHC Steering Committee meeting in the Silver Room @ the Conference Center, 3:00-5:00 p.m.

What is Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities?
Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities (HKHC) is an initiative of the Grant County Community Health Council and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to reduce childhood obesity through healthy eating and active living policy, systems and environmental change. The four-year initiative began in December 2009 and is funded through the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. HKHC partners with community organizations, schools, local government agencies and individuals to improve opportunities for regular exercise and good nutrition in Grant County.
